Exploration and development of natural compounds that induce clustering of nicotinic acetylcholine receptors and enhance the neuromuscular junction (NMJ)
The ultimate goal is to apply these compounds to the treatment of rare diseases such as congenital myasthenic syndromes and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), as well as to ameliorate age-related conditions including sarcopenia in an aging society.
